KYLIE COSMETICS: EXPOSED

Kylie Jenner likes to pride herself on the fact that she is a young "businesswoman" because she "started her own business". While that's technically true, the empire she has created through Kylie Cosmetics is built on nothing but a scam.

If you have a twitter account, or have access to YouTube or any social media for that matter, you have likely seen several instances of unhappy customers who have received (or not received) their products they purchased from Kylie's line. Honestly, I'm not quite sure how she's still in business or why people keep buying her products, considering that there has been so many problems. About a year and a half since their initial release, the business continues to demonstrate unprofessional aspects and frankly sloppy products. I'm about to break down the phoniness and shiftiness of everything Kylie Cosmetics. Here we go.

Kylie first released her first products, lip kits, in November 2015. There were three original shades; Candy K, Dolce K, and True Brown K. Every few months she launches a new set of shades, which all usually coincide with some sort of basic theme. For example, her first Valentine's Day Collection consisted of a 3 different shades of reds and pinks...how original.

Okay, first of all, let's start off with the physical errors. From the date of her initial launch, there have been customer complaints regarding the quality (or lack thereof) of the applicator brush, tubes not being full, and no stoppers being placed on the tube. Take a look at what some customers experienced.

This is so-called makeup artist Jeffree Star opening brand new tubes of her first lip glosses. The brushes honestly look like something I would buy at the dollar store.

Look at how disgusting that is. For a $15 lip gloss that's supposed to be high quality, this is everything but.

People have even resorted to creating their own solutions to these horrendous brushes, rather than dealing with the poor service of the company. This video shows how one woman fixed the frayed applicator brush she received from Kylie Cosmetics.

Since it's initial release, the company has fixed the applicator brush. Regardless, thousands of customers who ordered these original lip glosses were left confused, disappointed, and frustrated that they wasted their money. Fortunately, some of them were sent new brushes. Only the ones that ordered on April 1st, 2016, though.

More customers have indicated that the bottles that they've received have arrived basically empty, or not totally full. This YouTuber shows how her lip kits appeared full on the outside, but once she swished the brush around the tube, you could immediately see right through the bottle.

Absolutely pathetic. How could you sell thousands of products like this?

This video not only shows the emptiness of the metal gloss, but this YouTuber also shares that she paid $14 for shipping. FOR A $18 GLOSS. This was July 2016. Since then, she has changed it to free shipping, but the processing time has increased from the already agonizing wait that it previously was.

Customers who ordered other products have complained that they have received completely empty packages. Literally they just received an empty box with nothing in it.

How????????? Literally how are you that bad?????

Another customer had an issue with his lip liner he purchased from Kylie Cosmetics. He contacted customer service regarding it, and they told him that they unfortunately do not have an exchange or return policy. This was also July of 2016. 9 months after the launch of your company...and you don't have an exchange or return policy. Not even store credit or anything.

All of these troubles accumulating over the course of 9 months would definitely trigger some consequences, right? In July of 2016, arguably the worst time to date for this company, the Better Business Bureau gave Kylie Cosmetics an F rating. It has since improved from an F to a C, and now it currently stands at a shocking A-, considering the customer reviews on the BBB page for the brand are 49% negative and 47% positive.

If you've heard anything about Kylie Cosmetics, you've probably heard the common rumor that her lip kits are the exact same as the Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks. And that is pretty much the case. Their formulas are virtually identical, and they come from the same exact manufacturer, Seed Beauty.

Beauty vlogger, Stephanie Nicole, broke it all down in a video for us. She breaks down the price differences, and tells us that since the formula update for Kylie Cosmetics, it has striking similarities to Colourpop's. She also mentions that the color has changed for specific shades, like Candy K, since the update, and that they are significantly more dry.

After waiting a month to receive her product, she describes it as "bullshit" and says that she is "disgusted with the ethics of this company." She says that Spatz Labs, the factory that the owner of Colourpop and Seed Beauty owns, produces both Colourpop's formula and Kylie Cosmetic's formula. The only difference between the two are different additives and preservatives, otherwise they're identical.

Notice the price differences. You can literally get the exact same product from Colourpop for half as much money.

Back to receiving empty packages, this isn't something that only happened last year. The same exact situation happened with the Kylighters that were recently released.

Customers paid $22 for a new highlighter and in return, they received an empty box.

And to those who did receive the Kylighters, they weren't too happy either...

This speaks for itself. Utter disorganization and a lack of professionalism.

The Kylighters have also been called cheap, and customers have complained that they smell strange.

Visually, the similarities are obvious. Kylie's first Bronze palette has basically all of the same colors, just in a slightly rearranged order. The packaging is the same, except Kylie's doesn't come with a mirror. And her palette came out later than Shaaanxo's.

Kylie's Bronze Palette has a retail value of $42. The BH Cosmetics x Shaaanxo palette is originally $22. If you want to save $20 for god's sake don't buy Kylie's.

Let's address something else really quick. Do you ever notice how Kylie always has ridiculous drop times for her restocks, usually occurring between 1pm-3pm EST, while most people are at work or in school? Oh, and they always just magically happen to "sell out" in like five minutes or less. I remember when she used to post the amount of people that were on her website at one time, and then acting SO shocked when the website "crashes." Okay, a couple of things here.

1. If you know your customer base is primarily young women, why not drop your products at a more convenient time?

2. If you know the volume of customers that have repeatedly visited your website for a drop several times, if you have that data, why don't you modify the quality of your website to be able to handle that amount of people accessing it at one time? Don't act like it can't be done, because it can. And you can afford it, we know that. If 120,000 people were on the website at one time, assuming that everyone purchased on average one lip kit which is $29 (some probably purchased more and some probably weren't able to before it sold out), that's a gross profit of $3,480,000 NOT INCLUDING TAX OR SHIPPING, FOR JUST ONE PRODUCT DROP, IN UNDER 5 MINUTES. You're not fooling anyone Kylie.

3. Why don't you have an adequate amount of prospective product available that would directly correspond to the extreme consumer demand you always face? Oh that's right, because you don't care about customers actually receiving your product, you only care about taking their money, regardless of whether or not they received the product, and just building up your own hype by being able to say "OMG we sold out in 5 minutes!!!" All of this stuff is planned folks. She definitely has the money and the resources to ensure that that doesn't happen, or at least ensure that it happens less frequently, and to a lesser extent.

My main observation is the fact that Kylie Cosmetics is a multi-million dollar business, acting like they're a $1 business. With a lack of care for their customers and their concerns, how can you call this a successful company? Why do people continue to purchase their products? I can guarantee every single one of you, there is a dupe for EVERY single Kylie Cosmetics product. Dupethat is an excellent source for everything you need regarding that.

And what does Kylie have to say about all of this? Not much, to be honest.

Other than exchanging a few apologetic tweets with Jeffree Star, the extent of Kylie Cosmetics' damage has gone largely un-repaired and to this day, continues to have problems.

It's only fair to highlight some positives of Kylie and her company, although there are few.

She took time out of her day a few months ago to address the issue of fake Kylie lip kits being sold to customers, some of whom were harmed by the product. Some of the fakes contained glue and gasoline.

"The lip kit benefits Smile Train, a charity that helps children in developing countries who have cleft lip or cleft palate, giving them free surgeries that can change their lives. People with untreated clefts can have trouble breathing, speaking, and eating."

That's about the only nice thing I have to say about Kylie and her company.

My advice to you is, DON'T purchase anything with the name Kylie on it. At least, not until she gets her shit together.
